The team at wellness studio Wellness by PP celebrated its first anniversary in its Warrandyte home on November 27. Free meditation, yoga and Pilates classes were put on for all of the Warrandyte community to attend.

Studio owner Laura Roodhouse said her team were overwhelmed by the fantastic response from the Warrandyte community.

“It was great to see so many new faces coming to celebrate the first birthday. What an incredible year it has been. We are very grateful for the ongoing support from the local Warrandyte community. It allows our team to continue to do what we love doing best, and it is such a privilege to be a part of the wellness journey for many locals,” she said.

Wellness by PP started with Pilates and Stretch and Tone classes on the main stage at Stiggants Reserve in 2020, then relocated and resided in a space in Park Orchards. It wasn’t long before owner Laura Roodhouse wanted to create a unique space for the PP community. She wanted to create a space that made people feel calm, a safe space where people could be nurtured and grow.

Wellness workshops over the past year have included Sound Healings, Embodied Breathwork sessions, Lymphatic Drainage Workshops and Cacao Ceremonies.

Wellness by PP has a range of instructors who bring a different style and personality to each session. The instructors are kind, passionate about wellness, and have a genuine interest in everyone who visits the studio.

As a boutique studio, Wellness by PP has a hands-on approach where instructors work with each member to achieve their wellness goals. There’s a maximum of 10 participants in every class.

Laura explained her motivation for establishing a permanent Wellness studio in Warrandyte. “After growing up in Warrandyte and spending most of my life in Warrandyte, there really felt like there was a gap and space for a Wellness studio in the local area. After two years of lockdowns, we really felt that locals were becoming more health conscious, and we wanted to help them grow into becoming the best version of themselves,” she said.

As the studio continues to grow in popularity, the team continue to add additional classes and options. The Men’s Mat Pilates class has been running for about 16 weeks and has established a small but committed membership.

The studio will also continue to expand its program of community wellness, building on its established and growing Pilates and Yoga program with workshops in January and February, which will include:

Reflection and Manifestation, putting pen to paper

How Plants can change your Mood

Immersive Sound Healing with Crystal Quartz and Tibetan Singing Bowls

Whether you are after meditation, strength and conditioning, injury recovery and prevention, or are interested in other holistic classes and techniques for a more balanced lifestyle, there is something for everyone at Wellness by PP in 2023.
